The AGUNG BALI CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION is a US 501(c)3 non-profit organization which funds the Ryder Buck Children’s Language Program (RBCLP) and the Robin Carlson Children's Language Program (RCCLP), which both free English-language instruction for children in rural Balinese villages.
The program honors the memory of Robin Carlson and Ryder Buck, two former study abroad students of Glendale Community College in California, by providing free English-language instruction to elementary and middle school students in rural Bali. The program serves approximately 250 students attending five schools in three villages: Pejengkawan and Laplapan villages near Ubud, and Bugbug village near Candidasa.
Classes run from 60 to 90 minutes, with approximately 10 to 30 students per class. The classes are offered several days a week, with each student taking 2 classes per week. The classes are taught by English-speaking Balinese with the assistance of English-speaking volunteers, usually overseas travelers visiting Bali.
